Hi! I'm Marcia of MT Spool.
I’m currently living in South Carolina, but called Florida my home most
of my life. That’s where I spent most of my career as a Project Manager and Civil Estimator. We raised our daughters and now have 3 grandsons. I have a love of traveling, tinkering, and creating.

I discovered that I enjoyed knitting simple things but found that I wanted to create "more".  This led to my journey in quilting. I started with simple patterns and then zoomed right on up to "oh my, what have I gotten
into".  I decided that it's fun to jump in feet first and see what happens.

A few years later I found a new hobby - machine embroidery.  Then, I found I loved fabric dyeing, stenciling, painting, and more.  No fabric is safe when I'm in the mood to "make it mine".  "Why be like everyone else?  Change it up and stand out in your own special way."  That's the motto I try to live by.

My philosophy is that life is a journey and we aren't alone in our journey.  We are given many opportunities to "lock arms" with those around us.  To be honest, my quote while I was active in my career was "We're in a cesspool and we need to learn how to lock arms and swim together." Truthfully, I don't feel that we are in a cesspool, but it was a way to make people smile/chuckle while working through difficult situations.

Life is a series of ups and downs and I strongly believe that we should always strive to help those around us.  I don't feel that I get better by stepping on or over others. My life is better by helping others, pulling them up, dusting them off, and sharing my knowledge and abilities.  God did not create us to be solitary
beings.  So, I'd love to encourage you to travel along with me - through all my nutty little ideas and forays into ... who knows what.
