Welcome to MT Spool, where style and practicality meet.  This site was originally created to sell my handcrafted items (quilts, bags, and more).
But I quickly realized that my true desire is to explore so many
different areas of fiber arts – mostly related to quilting and fabric.  I also love teaching and sharing what I know and what I have learned.  I have taught a
few classes in different quilting skills and am creating a curriculum to teach
fabric dyeing.  I want to help provide everyone with the opportunity to add some color to their world in their own particular way.

I love trying new processes, products, applications, tools, and creating.  I use my skills to create one of a kind and just-because items.  The world is full of cookie-cutter things.  We walk down the street and see the same outfit on someone else.  We visit friends and see the same linens in their homes.  So, I like to find ways to personalize things – clothes, towels, décor, and more.  Something that will quietly (or loudly) proclaim, “This is me.  Here I am.”

I create through quilting, fabric-dyeing, fabric painting, and more.  I have a curious mind that loves to “jump in with both feet” when I find things that interest me.  Adapting things I see; finding new ways to incorporate color and designs; using things I see to inspire me to get outside my comfort zone and try something new – these are all things I would love to share with you.

Therefore, this site has now evolved into a site where I can share my crafting journey in hopes that it will encourage you to try new things, too.  I will share the good and the bad.  I will share any tips and tricks and “hindsight is 20:20” thoughts as well.   So, please check out my site, read my blogs, and see what I’m up to now.  But most importantly, let it inspire you to jump in! Because the “water is warm” and it’s always more fun to “swim” with friends.
