Are you new to Foundation Paper Piecing?

I shared with you in a previous post my grandson's temperature quilt.  I created the Chevron FPP pattern for the quilt and have added it to the "Downloadables".  I did not include detailed instructions on mastering FPP with the pattern.  The reason for that is because I could easily write a book to cover just one little pattern.  It is so much easier to see and understand than it is to read and understand.

I have not yet begun to master creating video tutorials so I thought I'd share with you one of my favorite pattern creators and her website.  She has a great video tutorial on her site that covers FPP very well.  In her tutorial, she uses a free pattern that is available in her shop so you can sew along with her.  After that, go back in her shop and try out a few more of her free patterns.  Once you're hooked, her shop is a wonderland of colorful and creative patterns that can provide hours of entertainment that will lead to some awesome quilts.  www.quietplaydesigns.com  and her FPP tutorial https://quietplaydesigns.com/how-to-foundation-paper-piece/

There are several other FPP pattern designers that have some really awesome patterns.  I have listed out a few of them (below).  Now, I warn you, some of the patterns that you'll see on their websites can be very intricate.  They have some really great themes, styles, and subjects.  I have spent many hours paging through all of these sites looking for inspiration and patterns for quilts large and small.

Here are a few mini quilts that I've made (and swapped) using other FPP patterns.
